JBA Officials Are Different JBA encourages game officials to be a part of the overall teaching process. We encourage our officials to help kids understand the rules and help them get better by playing within the rules. When a whistle is blown and a player clearly doesn't understand the call, our officials are encouraged to explain why the call was made. This helps the player learn.
Our training includes the following:
· what their duties and responsibilities are,
· how tightly to call games,
· how to be fair and impartial,
· how to communicate with coaches, parents and players,
· how to effectively handle conflict, and
· how to keep the sport safe and fun for kids.
